Volunteers are a critical part of our campaign operation - without volunteers we would not be at the place we are today. Our goal is to make Alexi’s campaign your campaign. All of us believe in what Alexi believes in – a chance at rebuilding the American dream and moving forward as a nation.
We have volunteer opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds. Our tasks cover a wide range of areas, from phone banking to fundraising and canvassing to voter outreach. You can volunteer from home, from your computer, at headquarters, or throughout Illinois. Below is a list of descriptions of our volunteer opportunities. Canvassing Tell me more… CanvassingOur campaign is involved in both door-to-door canvassing and community canvassing. During canvassing, we engage in face-to-face personal interaction with the voters and provide them with information from our campaign. Our goal is to introduce Alexi and his ideas to voters in different areas of the state. Our final goal in canvassing is to get out the vote for Alexi on Election Day.
Fundraising Tell me more… FundraisingOur fundraising efforts are very diverse. From small dollar and student hosted events to large scale fundraisers, no event is too small or too big. The purpose of fundraising is to give our campaign the resource to win and to build support for Alexi's candidacy at the same time. We are always open to new fundraising ideas, and we encourage our volunteers to let the campaign know how they want to organize a fundraising event. Phone Banking: From Home Tell me more… Phone Banking: From HomeMany of our volunteers cannot make it to our Chicago office to help with our phone banking efforts. We have set up an online tool so you can reach out to voters on behalf of the campaign from your very own home. During phonebanking, you are provided with a list of potential supporters and you help spread Alexi's message with information from the campaign.
Phone Banking: From Headquarters Tell me more… Phone Banking: From HeadquartersWhen volunteers come to the campaign headquarters for phone banking, we provide them with a phone from our office and also a list of contacts for them to use. They phonebank in teams, and get to know their fellow phonebankers. During phonebanking, you are provided with a list of potential supporters and you help spread Alexi's message with information from the campaign.
Host a House Party Tell me more… House PartiesHosting a house party is a great way to let your friends, family and neighbors know why you support Alexi Giannoulias for U.S. Senate. We will provide you with all of the information you need to host a house party for the campaign.
Intern for the campaign Tell me more… InternsInterning for the campaign is great way to help get Alexi elected and learn about politics in the process. We are looking for people who are committed to electing Alexi to the U.S. Senate. Interns are required to commit a minimum of 5 to 15 hours each week to the campaign on a set schedule.
Volunteer on Election Day Tell me more… Election Day TeamAll of the campaign's efforts come together on Election Day. We need your help to make sure that our supporters get to the polls on Election Day and vote for Alexi. Sign up to phone bank, canvass and help with visibility efforts on Election Day.
